Prebens Herremagasin, which opened in 1961 under modest conditions, was the foundation of the company that today consists of a workwear company with 5 branches distributed across Funen, Zealand, and Jutland.

It all began in a basement
In the autumn of 1961, Preben Orloff Lauridsen arrived, in true Mads Skjern style, on the 4 o'clock train from West Jutland to conquer the men's clothing market in Odense. The adventure started at Middelfartvej 54, with a 60 m² clothing store, for better or worse. Preben, his wife Emma, and their children moved into the warehouse in the basement amid earmuffs, woolen socks, and other miscellaneous goods.
In 1968, the store moved to premises in the newly built Tarupcenter, and it was here that Orloff Firmatøj began in modest surroundings in the basement. "Prebens Job-Tøj" was the company's name when it started, and its inception was based on an order for Fyns Telefon, which required outfitting 1,200 employees with everything from ties to coveralls.
In 1988, a new department specializing in workwear was established under the name "Prebens Job-Tøj" in the basement below the men's clothing store in Tarupcenter.
This marked was the beginning of the clothing empire, which continued its journey with a strong focus on "clothing for the job."
From basement business to 5 nationwide showrooms
The development gained momentum with a growing customer base for corporate clothing, and in 1995, Prebens Job-Tøj moved to larger and better facilities on Rugårdsvej.
In 1999, the company name was changed to Orloff Firmatøj A/S. In 2008, Orloff constructed its new headquarters in Odense and moved to premises three times larger on Tarupvej, creating perfect opportunities for customers, employees, and internal logistics. This allowed for optimal solutions to be offered to the company's customers.
Today, Orloff Firmatøj has over 80 employees and covers the entire Denmark with its head office in Odense and four additional showrooms located in Aarhus, Kolding, Copenhagen, and Randers. All branches have administration, showrooms, warehouse facilities, and their own textile printing, enabling us to offer customers nationwide and consistent service.
